Legal Insurrection notes the silly response of some lefties to news of Adam Gadahn’s capture:
But wait for it: This proves Obama’s anti-terrorism strategy is better than Bush’s -
- What, you mean working with your allies as opposed to trying to run roughshod on them actually works? Who knew?
- It’s like the commander in chief is focused on fighting terrorism or something.
Because al-Qaeda terrorists never before have been captured in Pakistan (other than Khalid Sheikh Mohammend and other people we can’t figure where to put on trial).
Whatever it takes to get them cheering for America. A few years ago they would have been defending Gadahn.

That’s the message in my latest post at Big Government:
No tragedy is beyond exploitation by the left. When census worker Bill Sparkman was found dead and it was leaked that “Fed” was scrawled across his chest, the entirety of the conservative and Tea Party movements were immediately convicted by the online left. They were wrong, and we now know that Sparkman committed suicide. Despite significant evidence to the contrary, the left also tried to hang Joseph Stack around the neck of the Tea Party. Again they failed.
They are now
doing the same song and dance with Pentagon shooter John Patrick Bedell. Despite the fact that he’s a registered Democrat and 9/11 Truther, the left and their media sycophants are stretching to tie him to the Tea Party movement, though the best that they can honestly come up with is that he distrusted government.
That’s what it really boils down to. At the end of the day, they know none of these guys will hold up as right-wingers. Their real objective is simply to shame anyone who thinks government should be smaller, rather than bigger. Anyone who thinks that the IRS is often used to bully Americans isn’t simply wrong, you see, but is also dangerous. Anyone who thinks that a limited government would better promote prosperity and ensure individual liberty isn’t merely antiquated, but also a potential shooter of government employees.

Sarah Palin is no stranger to smear campaigns. The latest such story which has liberal bloggers and other Palin haters all wee-wee’d up alleges that Palin and her “entourage” gobbled up all the free Oscar swag. Supposedly, she and her group were “like locusts,” and descended on the liberal event and ruined everything by being such a greedy capitalist.
Too bad it’s all a lie. Here’s what actually happened:
CommentsThe Silver Spoon, a company owned and operated by women and established with a firm belief in supporting women in business and leadership, invited Governor Sarah Palin and her family to participate in a charitable function sponsored by The Silver Spoon and the Red Cross to support the Red Cross’ disaster relief efforts in Haiti. Governor Palin graciously accepted since it was in support of such a worthy and timely cause. The governor arrived with a small group about 15 minutes prior to our store’s official opening; and upon arrival, she and her entire group gave generous donations to the cause. We offered to open early to accommodate her schedule; she did not ask us to open early. The other vendors routinely set up an hour before the event opens, so they were already there when the governor arrived. No one was asked to come in early. When Governor Palin arrived, she and her guests made generous donations. I escorted her around and introduced her to every vendor, and they talked to her about their products and gifted her with samples. She never asked for anything but politely accepted the products. The governor and her family and guests were very gracious and respectful to everyone. We asked and the governor happily agreed to take a photo with the American Red Cross staff and the staff of The Silver Spoon. The governor stayed for a total of about 35 minutes, thanked everyone, made an additional generous personal donation pledge to the Red Cross, and then departed.

The left is in an uproar over the recent Supreme Court decision that struck down parts of McCain-Feingold. My post on Big Government tells you why:
CommentsOn paper the Citizens United case has all the makings of a solid liberal issue. First Amendment protections, considered sacrosanct by the left when a reporter is leaking classified information, are strengthened for those speaking truth to power. Both the ACLU and AFL-CIO support the decision. So why are prominent liberals speaking out so vehemently against it?

When Kentucky census worker Bill Sparkman was found dead, apparently by hanging, with the word “Fed” written across his chest, vitriolic leftwing commentators and bloggers quickly convicted the entire conservative movement. Now that the Kentucky police have ruled it a suicide, prominent conservatives are asking where they can find the apologies from the left.
Silly wingnut teabaggers, that is not the right question to be asking. Clearly what we must now collectively ponder is this: what did Rush Limbaugh say to make this man kill himself?

I think I’m on to something here. Hang with me. First, some background to set the stage.
Google is to the internet what the MSM is to broadcasting. It’s an almost-monopolized media apparatus that can shape the public’s perception of things through what it chooses to include and what it chooses to omit. It can divert information seekers towards whatever information Google deems appropriate, and away from whatever it doesn’t. I might add that it’s also very confusing whether the appropriate pronoun for Google is an “it” or a “they”. As an entity Google is sort of part-man, part-machine, right? (I pray for all our sakes that the man-part is still in control.) For simplicity, I’ll stick with ”it” for now.
Recall, if you will, the “miserable failure” Google bomb. Google’s search algorithms were exploited by third parties so that any google searches for “miserable failure” were redirected to President Bush’s bio at the White House website.
Lest we forget, former House Majority Leader Dick Gephardt called President Bush “a miserable failure” in a presidential debate on September 4, 2003.
This witticism was taken up by Michael Moore and other leftwing internet scamps, who did their best to make sure that any Google search for the phrase “miserable failure” would return a link to President Bush’s official White House biography as its top result.
But now that Mr. Obama’s official biography now resides on that same page, the Solons at Google have decided this is unacceptable.
It’s not like it was a secret what was going on. And being such good stewards of objectivity on the intertubes, it took only six brief years for google to fix the algorithm and correct the Bush google bomb attack. But from what I hear, when it was recently brought to their attention that failure searches similarly linked to Obama’s bio on the same White House site, they managed to reverse it in a matter of hours. An unbiased observer might interpret that as a sign of bias.
A few days ago I posted this unaltered photograph of Dear Leader wondering where the doorknob was:
Heh. That’s just never getting old.
It’s true that sometimes the cover up is worse than the crime. For me, the perp’s attempted breaking and entering through a white house window could be just a hilarious memory by now. Except for one thing – it seems like Google might be covering up the gaffe, maybe.
Remember that google runs algorithms to help information seekers find the information that Google thinks they’re looking for. And it’s usually pretty straightforward and useful. But as detailed above, they do have a track record of screening results if they feel it necessary.
I wanted to see if my little photo up there would show up in a Google Image Search. Other photos on this blog can be found by searching for them with the appropriate criteria. For example, this image from a recent post entitled A Tale of Two Inaugurations.
It is easily found through Google’s image search: a tale of two inaugurations conservative compendium. First result in fact. Clearly, the liberal leaning folks at Google would find nothing particularly undesirable about this photo.
It’s easy to find photos from a similar incident where Bush tried to open a locked door at a press conference - which became an instant internet sensation among lefty blogs. Google image search: bush door.
Page after page of Bush/door. Again, pretty straightforward.
Now, let’s find my picture – search for “obama window“:
How odd. No relevant images whatsoever. Maybe I just need to try some different search terms to narrow things down better. “Obama walks into window“. “Obama window not door“. “Obama thwarted by window” – the exact title of my original post. Nothing, nada, bupkus.
In fact, it seems there’s no combination of search terms that will ever result in finding a picture of Obama trying to walk into the window. Click “next page” all you want, you will never find the picture.
It’s not just my photo that doesn’t appear. I know that photos of this gaffe appear on other blogs and news sites. I also know for a fact that the google crawler has already been through CC since I posted the picture and has seen it. So why doesn’t Google allow these photos to appear in their image search?
If that’s not enough, here’s where Google really drop-kicks objectivity square in the nuts. A normal Google web search for “obama white house window“ produces not a picture of Obama, nor of the white house, nor of a window, but a picture of Bush at that godamn locked door. I am not kidding, see for yourself.
How does that even happen? And what do those other two top news results have to do with it? That’s not what I searched for, Googlebot!
Am I tilting at windmills, quixotically? (See what I did there???) Google isn’t above censorship. They have proven themselves capable of censoring search results to please the Chicoms (i.e. the great firewall of China). Even in this country, google is known to censor search results due to DMCA legal complaints. Google doesn’t deny it’s liberal leanings, in fact they proclaim it quite proudly. Is it at least a possibility that google has other algorithms at work to help screen out embarrassments to Obama and the ruling democrats? One would certainly hope not. That would be implementing mathematically what journalists and editors in newsrooms across the country do intuitively. One thing’s for sure, the bottom of this must be gotten to. And I intend to get it got. I’ll be keeping my eyes on Google like a hawk. You hear me Google webcrawler? Like a hawk! I know you’re reading this and I’m on you like white on rice you search-censoring soul-eating tin can.
In conclusion: screw you, Google, and your stupid online PC idea too. I’ll never trust my productivity to an internet connection. And from now on – I’m using YAHOO!
(Be calm, my liberal friends, this is indeed a humor piece which in text form isn’t always received as intended by those in an adversarial mindset. My conservative readers all got it, didn’t you? But seriously though, what the heck is going on here with google?)

You gotta be kidding me…no never mind, the nation really is becoming this absurd.
If for some reason you want to, and I can’t think of a good one, you can find the stupid game here.
I played it so you wouldn’t have to. The goombas have been replaced with pigs. The coins with American flag pins. Get it? Maybe it was the slippery ice, or maybe it was an involuntary subconscious reaction on my part, but my Obama kept hurling himself into bottomless pits. Eventually I estimated the amount of time someone must have put into this thing and gave up out of overwhelming sorrow for the sad lives of Obama supporters.
Other popular Super NES titles they plan to remake in honor of our benevolent ruler include:
Sim Utopia; Rampage: Constitutional Edition; Iran Contra; and Wheel of Misfortune. Coming soon!

Yesterday I predicted a leftist assault on Joe the Plumber. You simply do not challenge The One without facing the wraith of his accolades. WaPo goes for the red herring, hoping to distract from the issue by questioning Joe’s plumber bonafides:
Joe the Plumber’s story sprang a few leaks Thursday. Turns out that the man who was held up by John McCain as the typical, hard-working American taxpayer isn’t really a licensed plumber. And court documents show he owes nearly $1,200 in back taxes.
…The burly, bald man acknowledged he doesn’t have a plumber’s license, but said he didn’t need one because he works for someone else at a company that does residential work.
But Wurzelbacher still would need to be a licensed apprentice or journeyman to work in Toledo, and he’s not, said David Golis, manager and residential building official for the Toledo Division of Building Inspection.
State and local records show Wurzelbacher has no license, although his employer does. Golis said there are no records of inspectors citing Wurzelbacher for unlicensed work in Toledo.
Typical liberal reasoning. If you don’t have government papers, you aren’t legitimate. I don’t want to get into the folly of government licensing and how it’s used to protect businesses from competition rather than consumers, but it’s enough to point out that a government certificate is not the determinate of one’s occupational status. Nor does this have anything whatsoever to do with Obama’s declaring he wants to “spread the wealth.” His statement is no less socialistic for Joe not having a plumber’s license.
Liberals on the web have, not surprisingly, taken an even lower road, and are engaged in a furious verbal assault (via Moonbattery):
Joe the Plumber is the typical selfish American voter who only cares about his own personal situation and not the big picture. […] Guys like these disgust me.
[M]aybe Joe [the] Plumber and Joe Sixpack can meet up in Northwestern, New Hampshire with the Mooselady and talk about faucets!
I bet JOE PLUMBCRA^K has a criminal background. […] How was it that McCainRat knew what JOEA^ssCra^k said to Obama, if he was none other than a PLANT?
So the white guy is the only measure of this economy? I’m so sick of everyone else’s welfare being measured against the white guy.
You know what, screw Joe the plumber and Joe the electrician.[…] They all wanted to drive BMW’s and buy homes that were bigger and more expensive at 25 than their parent’s homes that they bought at 50.
Screw those guys! They won’t to do well for themselves, and they must be stopped! Yeah, Obama will do wonders for the economy, let me tell you.
Also from Moonbattery:
Having moved beyond sneering at him for probably liking beer at Huffington Post, the vermin at Daily Kos have tried publishing his address, tacitly encouraging Obamunists to throw Molotov cocktails through his windows or terrorize his family.
But the attack isn’t limited to sallow adolescents conducting a People’s Revolution from their moms’ basements. Left-leaning officials are moving to drive Wurzelbacher out of work on bureaucratic technicalities as punishment for not extolling their messiah’s smash and grab economic policies.
Welcome to the new tone of Hope and Change.

The outcry over the infamous New Yorker cover has provided snobbish left wing commentators yet another opportunity to confirm their own enlightened status by condemning all us plebes who cling to our guns and bibles.
Madison Powers at CQ Politics frets:
The potential consequence of a synoptic image of this sort explains why it’s the New Yorker’s own demographic who are upset. They get that this is but the latest instance in which the mainstream media unwittingly contribute to the perpetuation of a deliberately created myth emanating from the lesser regions of the new media.
What about those who perpetrate the laundry list of falsehoods? If they are supposed get their comeuppance, it’s really hard to see how. The defense is that it has to be seen in context, and that only those ignorant of the context are flummoxed. The problem is that the New Yorker’s context is not the same as the context in which others see it. The message travels far beyond the Hudson into places the messenger probably does not.
Not only is this an example of the kind of rejection of intentionalism which Jeff Goldstein observed, but the basic assumption behind the author’s view is that us simple folk are simply too stupid to get it. Furthermore, it’s become automatic for these writers to state with authority that such views about Obama are widespread and more than just the usual internet nonsense found on all matters. This view is entirely unsubstantiated.
On the flip side, none of these enlightened individuals express much concern over the pervasive belief on the left that Bush was behind 9/11, a view held for no other reason than that these people really, really want a good reason to justify their hatred of Bush. Contrary to how their disinterested pretensions, these writers don’t care a whit about ensuring truth wins over rumors; they care about tarring republicans and protecting Obama. But anyone who is familiar with the left side of the blogosphere knows that rumors and falsehoods are far more likely to gain the status of conventional wisdom within the left, while the right is actually willing to dispel and condemn such things within its own community. Don’t let the snobs browbeat you into believing any different.

What’s wrong with this picture? Hint: We’re all gonna die!
Answer: A double dose of fear mongering and blatant hypocrisy. The Truth website got to it faster than me and got a better screen capture, see here.
