They’re Both Flip Floppers

The McCain and Obama camps have been trading accusations of flip-flopping in recent weeks. Rare as it is, they are both right. Both campaigns are flip-flopping around because both candidates lack principled political philosophies.

Barack Obama was molded in the tumultuous fires of Chicago politics, where words mean nothing and anything goes. This is why he could spend 20 years in a radical church in order to prove that he was “black enough,” only to deny that there was anything wrong with it one month and dump it like yesterday’s political trash the next once his presidential ambitions demanded it.

John McCain has long ago turned his political choices over to his ego, saying whatever will get it the most political stroking from the media. Now, however, he must balance that with the realization that, while running as a democrats gets the most media love, it won’t get him elected as a republican. He still seeks media accolades by pandering on issues like global warming and the demonization of the oil industry, but has flipped on drilling and the bush tax cuts, which he used to demagogue with the class warfare card.

Whichever candidate wins, we will have a conniving political animal as President.
