Democrats Already Ramping Up Voters For 2008
This is an email sent out to democrat supporters.
It doesn’t take much to realize why six in 10 Republicans are unhappy with their party’s presidential field.
The GOP leadership has never been more out of touch with mainstream America — and apparently its own party faithful are beginning to take notice. The more Republicans hear about their candidates, the less they like their choices.
Let’s take a minute to help our neighbors make a decision to change the course. Write a letter to your local newspaper, and show your community what the GOP candidates are really about:

You probably heard some of the sound bites from last week’s debate, but the Republicans have said a lot more than that in recent days — remarks that are dangerous and alarming.
Tom Tancredo believes that immigration is an “issue of our culture itself, and whether we will survive.”
Mitt Romney thinks that it’s “entirely possible” that Iraq hid weapons of mass destruction in Syria.
And an overwhelming majority stood up in front of First Lady Nancy Reagan last week and told her they would not support federally-funded stem cell research.
Faced with facts like these, even Republicans are beginning to abandon their party. That’s why our 50-state strategy has never been more important. We’re going to protect Democratic strongholds, but the disillusionment of the Republican base underscores why we can never give up on the communities GOP strategists have considered “safe” for years.
Do your part by writing a letter to the editor and show these unhappy Republicans that they have a clear choice in 2008:

President Bush’s war in Iraq was a failure. His response to Hurricane Katrina was a failure. And just this week, his overextension of military resources failed the people of Greensburg, Kansas.
Yet somehow, the 2008 Republican presidential candidates — like Rudy Giuliani — still believe that history will view George W. Bush as “a great president” for his response to terrorism after 9/11.
Right now, there is a Republican waiting to hear this. Help them out — write a letter to the editor now:

Sincerely,
Tom McMahon
This strategy is a sure backfire, and I therefore encourage them to vigorously pursue it. What the democrats don’t realize is that most of we conservatives are unhappy with our party leaders because they are being too much like democrats. The government is getting bigger, not smaller. We’re running from a war our enemy has no chance of winning. And there’s too much corruption and too little backbone. Contrary to what Mr. McMahon believes, I see some promise in the Republican field to get back to our conservative basics. If the democrats want to help us spread the word and let people see what these guys are really about, I think that’s a win for us. But only if they tell the truth.
If in the process the democrats reveal more of what they themselves stand for, I think it’s even better. Because it is they who are completely out of touch with American values. Take this sentence for example:
Tom Tancredo believes that immigration is an “issue of our culture itself, and whether we will survive.”
It’s obvious that the democrats know they can’t win on the issue of illegal immigration because they constantly construct a straw man mischaracterizing opponents of illegal immigration as racists opposed to any immigration. It may have to do with four out of five Americans supporting a crackdown on illegal immigration. Clearly the vast majority of Americans know in their hearts and minds that illegal immigration presents serious challenges for our culture itself and does have implications about our society’s very survival. If the democrats wish to show people that they disagree, that they think it’s no big deal, I encourage it.
The best thing that can happen to this country is for the democrats to get out there and show the American electorate what they really stand for on the important issues compared to the Republicans. If the Republicans by contrast insist on emulating Reagan and sticking to their guns, we shouldn’t have any problem liberating the house and senate next fall.
