TEHRAN, Iran ? Palestinian Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh vowed on Friday that his Hamas-led government will never recognize Israel and will continue to fight for the liberation of Jerusalem.

“The world arrogance (U.S.) and Zionists … want us to recognize the usurpation of the Palestinian lands and stop jihad and resistance and accept the agreements reached with the Zionist enemies in the past,” Haniyeh told thousands of Friday prayer worshippers at Tehran University…

“I’m insisting from this podium that these issues won’t materialize. We will never recognize the usurper Zionist government and will continue our jihad-like movement until the liberation of Jerusalem,” he said.

How dare those evil Zionists expect us to honor the agreements we reach with them!

The Israelis gave up Gaza in the hope of peace. What they actually got was rocket fire, kidnappings, suicide bombings, and general non-peace. Now the mantra has shifted and the Palestinian jihad will continue until the Israelis give up Jerusalem. Once they’ve got that, they’ll be back asking for something else. Land for peace doesn’t work. Or does it?

I hold this truth to be self evident: That everyone in Washington is an imbecile. But even the blowhards on Capitol Hill must recognize the blaring truth that is right in front of them. The peaceful solution to the Israeli Palestinian conflict – nay, the entire issue of global jihad is right under our nose. Actually, it’s under our feet. Under our houses, our roads and our businesses. It’s land. Land for peace. And the magic number is 196.9. 196.9 million square miles. The land area of the planet Earth. The sooner we admit to ourselves that this is the only peace offering Islam will accept, the sooner we can get down to the business of resolving the conflict. Either by giving them what they want, all 196.9 million miles of it. Or by making them a counter-offer. Zero. The number of inches we’ll cede to evil. The number of free people we’ll abandon to tyranny. Take it or leave it. The other side won’t compromise, and neither should we.
