Weapons smuggled into Gaza despite ceasefire
Since Israel and Palestinian militants agreed to a ceasefire five days ago, Palestinians have continued smuggling weapons into the Gaza Strip from neighboring Egypt, including several pieces yesterday, Israeli and Palestinian security officials told WND.
The truce, which went into effect Sunday, called for a halt of smuggling activity by Palestinian groups in Gaza. It also called for a cessation of rocket attacks launched by Palestinian militants in Gaza aiming at nearby Jewish communities in exchange for Israel withdrawing its ground troops from the Strip and halting military activity in the territory.
In accordance with orders from Prime Minister Ehud Olmert , the Israeli Defense Forces removed its troops from Gaza Sunday, but hours later, Palestinian militants fired rockets at Jewish towns. More rockets were fired Monday and Tuesday.
How many times must this same story be played out before people get a clue? When your adversaries starting position is your complete destruction, there can be no negotiated peace. The only way Israel will ever see peace is when she defeats her enemies.

Even as the Iraq Study Group prepares its recommendation that the U.S. and its allies turn to Iran and Syria for aid in stabilizing Iraq, evidence has emerged showing that Iran is supplying weapons to be used against coalition forces in Iraq.
U.S. officials say they have found smoking-gun evidence of Iranian support for terrorists in Iraq: brand-new weapons fresh from Iranian factories. According to a senior defense official, coalition forces have recently seized Iranian-made weapons and munitions that bear manufacturing dates in 2006.
This suggests, say the sources, that the material is going directly from Iranian factories to Shia militias, rather than taking a roundabout path through the black market. “There is no way this could be done without (Iranian) government approval,” says a senior official.
Iranian-made munitions found in Iraq include advanced IEDs designed to pierce armor and anti-tank weapons. U.S. intelligence believes the weapons have been supplied to Iraq’s growing Shia militias from Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps, which is also believed to be training Iraqi militia fighters in Iran.
Then you also have Shiite militiamen being trained and equipped by Hezbollah.
As Andrew McCarthy at NRO puts it:
Let’s talk with our enemies, Iran and Syria. Let?s talk with terror abettors as if they were good guys – just like us. As if they were just concerned neighbors trying to stop the bloodshed in Iraq ? instead of the dons who’ve been commanding it all along.
This would be like asking China to help get the Viet Cong under control so we could widthdraw from Southeast Asia.
Madness.

Ok, maybe the title is a bit of an exaggeration, but it’s not hard to guess where this view is coming from.
Britain’s relationship with America is “one-sided” and Tony Blair is routinely ignored by President George Bush, a senior US official has said.
. . .Mr Myers reportedly said he felt “a little ashamed” at Mr Bush’s treatment of the prime minister.
. . .The official – a specialist in British politics – made the comments at an academic forum at Washington DC’s School of Advanced International Studies on Tuesday.
He reportedly said that despite Mr Blair’s attempts to influence the Bush administration’s policy, “we typically ignore them and take no notice – it’s a sad business”.
The State Department has got to be the most worthless bunch on Capital Hill, which is saying something. Most State Department diplopukes tend to think that, gosh darnit, if we would just be more socialist and try to solve everything through appeasement like everyone else there would be no fighting in the world and we could all frolic through the fields having a gay ol’ time. I feel sorry for Condoleeza Rice. She’s far too smart a woman to have to spend her time keeping a bunch of spoiled diplomats out of trouble.
The fact of the matter is, a bridge with Europe is the last thing we need right now. I have much respect for Tony Blair – in the war against global jihad he is a true visionary – but he’s a man of his environment. If he’s offering a connection to Europe, it would unfortunately be more accurately described as an anchor. America can’t afford to be pulled down into the depths of irrelevance with them.
Post-Christian, indulgently multicultural Europe needs direction, not partners in its despair. Bush understands this.

With so many judges throwing their weight around, U.S. District Judge Richard Leon was appareantly feeling left out and decided to insert himself into FEMA management and ordered them to resume housing payments for Katrina victims.
A federal judge ordered the Bush administration Wednesday to immediately resume making housing benefits available to thousands of victims of Hurricane Katrina.
U.S. District Judge Richard J. Leon said the Federal Emergency Management Agency failed to adequately explain why it ended the 18-month housing assistance program for people who lost their homes in the 2005 storm.
They failed to explain it. So what? That’s not a sufficient legal reason for this judge to usurp the powers of the Executive branch. Frankly, I don’t know whether or not FEMA should continue supporting housing for Katrina victims. But they obviously are going to have to stop at some point. So the question is, who makes that decision? It shouldn’t be an unelected and unaccountable judge making that call. That’s not democracy; that’s dictatorship.
That we have thousands of these black robed mini-dictators running around laying down decrees isn’t any better than having one all-powerful dictator. In fact, it’s probably worse.

Judge Orders Treasury Department To Make Paper Money Recognizable to Blind People
American paper money represents an unfair impediment to the blind, and the Treasury Department must come up with new U.S. currency to help the visually impaired use cash, a federal judge ruled Tuesday.
U.S. District Judge James Robertson said keeping all U.S. currency the same size and texture violates the Rehabilitation Act, which prohibits discrimination on the basis of disability in government programs.
“Of the more than 180 countries that issue paper currency, only the United States prints bills that are identical in size and color in all their denominations,” Robertson wrote in his ruling. “More than 100 of the other issuers vary their bills in size according to denomination, and every other issuer includes at least some features that help the visually impaired.”
What other countries do should not be at all relevant to a United States Judge. But hey, atleast he won’t tell the legislature how they have to comply!
Robertson wouldn’t say how Treasury must do it, but he gave the government agency 10 days to start working on new bills that the blind can tell apart.
That’s nice of him, right? Yes, how nice that this judicial dictator, a legislature all unto himself, deigned to let us peasants choose for ourselves the manner of compliance to his unilateral decrees. I’m thrilled. Of course, it turns out this entire case is made moot by the fact that a market solution already exists.
But Al-Mohamed said that blind people often resort to using note-tellers, portable readers that can cost $300 per machine. Often, they don’t work when bills have been folded or crumpled and frequently it’s inconvenient to use in a busy store, she said.
Of course, the article made it sound like a bad thing. “How horrible, they have to RESORT to evil capitalism to solve their problems.” And heaven forbid, they can be inconvenient! But remodeling our entire monetary system for a minuscule fraction of the population, that’s not inconvenient. To a leftist, only government is capable of solving problems (isn’t it funny how they get it exactly backwards? And by funny, I mean sad), so anything else doesn’t count.
Another judge has made a mockery of our Constitution. Judge Audrey Collins, whose last hissy-fit ended parts of the Patriot Act, has jumped up and down and stomped her feet and demanded that mean ol’ Bush stop labeling the nice terrorists.
A federal judge struck down President Bush’s authority to designate groups as terrorists, saying his post-Sept. 11 executive order was unconstitutional and vague.
Some parts of the Sept. 24, 2001 order tagging 27 groups and individuals as “specially designated global terrorists” were too vague and could impinge on First Amendment rights of free association, U.S. District Judge Audrey Collins said.
The order gave the president “unfettered discretion” to label groups without giving them a way to challenge the designations, she said in a Nov. 21 ruling that was made public Tuesday.
Well gee wizz, we wouldn’t want to infringe on a terrorist’s right to associate! With idiots like this running around hampering our every effort, we might as well just stick a giant pistol to our nations head and pull the trigger. Our Constitution is not a suicide pact.

With his letter to America President Ahmadatdajews of Iran has hinted at what some analysts say is his intention to run for the Democratic nomination for U.S. President in ‘08.
The Islamic supremacists seek to pacify us by neutralizing our will to resist them
In the well executed and grammatically pristine letter, the Presidential hopeful touched on all the necessary liberal talking points, from Katrina to faulty pre-war intelligence. Hinting at what we could expect from an Ahmadatdajews White House, he outlined the following platform:
It is possible to govern based on an approach that is distinctly different from one of coercion, force and injustice.
It is possible to sincerely serve and promote common human values, and honesty and compassion.
It is possible to provide welfare and prosperity without tension, threats, imposition or war.
It is possible to lead the world towards the aspired perfection by adhering to unity, monotheism, morality and spirituality and drawing upon the teachings of the Divine Prophets.
When asked directly whether he planned to seek the Democratic nomination, an A’Jad spokesman replied, “Dirka dirka Mohammed jihad. Allahu Akhbar.” We are told this roughly translates to “ask again later”.
I’m sorry. I can’t help but joke about this because this letter itself is a joke. Does he really expect us to buy this? Well maybe not us, but looking at the language – almost indistinguishable from the bunkum we get from the Democrats and the clone-army media – it’s pretty clear who he’s talking to. If I may, I’d like to hit just a few points and ignore the rest.
Terrorism in Iraq has grown exponentially.
I can’t help but feel he’s bragging at the success of his terrorist recruiting and arming programs.
Noble Americans
As stated earlier, the people he’s addressing in this letter are not the “noble Americans”.
We should all heed the Divine Word of the Holy Qur’an
I believe the above quote is the only sincere statement in the entire letter. He believes Islam should rule us all. It is his motivation for everything. This letter itself is in his mind a means to that end. The Islamic supremacists seek to pacify us by neutralizing our will to resist them. And through the willful collaboration of the International Press, there is a very real possibility that they could succeed.
Don’t for a second believe this farce.

Gingrich calls for elimination of McCain-Feingold reforms
Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich says First Amendment rights need to be expanded, and eliminating the McCain-Feingold law’s restrictions on campaign contributions would be a start.
Gingrich, a Republican, suggested allowing people to give any amount to any candidate as long as the donation was reported online within 24 hours.
“Just as tax lawyers always succeed in out-thinking the (Internal Revenue Service) because they stay after five and the IRS goes home, the private-sector lawyers will always out-think the (Federal Election Commission) because they stay after five and the FEC goes home,” Gingrich told about 400 people at the Nackey Scripps Loeb First Amendment Awards dinner Monday.
Passed in 2002, McCain-Feingold bans unrestricted donations from labor, corporations and the wealthy to the political parties. Gingrich said the reforms have failed and led only to more negative campaign ads via e-mail, television, direct mail and phone calls.
Notice how the AP couldn’t help slip in some liberal framing, declaring that the bill “bans unrestricted donations from labor, corporations and the wealthy.” The bill does not discriminate against wealthy and poor, it applies equally to (and thus infringes upon) everyone’s free speech. But leave it to the MSM to slip some class warfare into an unrelated issue of free speech.

Remember the Mooslim clerics who were “discriminated” against by being escorted off the US Airways flight? New info has come out suggesting their activities on that plane were even more suspicious than previously thought.
Passengers and flight attendants told law-enforcement officials the imams switched from their assigned seats to a pattern associated with the September 11 terrorist attacks and also found in probes of U.S. security since the attacks — two in the front row first-class, two in the middle of the plane on the exit aisle and two in the rear of the cabin.
“That would alarm me,” said a federal air marshal who asked to remain anonymous. “They now control all of the entry and exit routes to the plane.”
Either this was a set up, meant to facilitate exactly the victimization scam we’re seeing now; or it was an actual probing/terrorist activity in progress.

Bennie Tompson doesn’t want any “discriminatory” action taken against illegals.
Mississippi Democrat in line to become chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee has warned the nation’s largest uniform supplier it faces criminal charges if it follows a White House proposal to recheck workers with mismatched Social Security numbers and fire those who cannot resolve the discrepancy in 60 days.
Rep. Bennie Thompson said in a letter to Cintas Corp. it could be charged with “illegal activities in violation of state and federal law” if any of its 32,000 employees are terminated because they gave incorrect Social Security numbers to be hired.
“I am deeply troubled by Cintas’ recent policy change regarding the Social Security Administration’s ‘no match’ letters,” Mr. Thompson said in the Nov. 2 letter. “It is my understanding that hundreds of Cintas’ immigrant workers have received these letters. I am extremely concerned about any potentially discriminatory actions targeting this community.”
There are times when discrimination, which means simply to distinguish, is good. Discriminating against murders, by placing them in jail for no other reason than that they committed murder, is good. Discriminating against people who are here illegally by not hiring them and kicking their asses out of the country is also good. Another kind of discrimination I approve of: not voting for people with (D) by their name.

Ahmadinejad Predicts Collapse of Israel, U.S., U.K.
Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad predicted the collapse of Israel, the U.S. and Britain, attacking what he called their “oppressive behavior.”
“The Zionist regime is on a steep downhill towards collapse and disgrace,” Ahmandinejad told supporters at a rally of Basiji militia forces near Tehran today. In a reference to the U.S. and U.K., he said “the collapse and crumbling of your devilish rule has started.” The speech was carried live on state television.
. . .The Iranian president also called on neighboring countries to drive out “foreign occupiers,” in a reference to U.S.-led forces in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Iran is ready to help the U.S. on Iraq, Ahmadinejad
Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad proposed Sunday that he would help the United States calm Iraq if Washington changes what he described as its “bullying” policy toward Iran.
“We are ready to help you, Ahmadinejad declared while addressing a group of members of the Basij paramilitary group, affiliated to the elite Revolutionary Guard.
Real helpful.
Not to be misunderstood, Ahmadinejad made sure to work in some DNC talking points:
Leave a comment“You went to Iraq to topple Saddam and find weapons of mass destruction, but it was clear to us that you came in order to dominate the region and its oil.”
Ahmadinejad said that the U.S. and Britain are paying for the instability and violence in Iraq. “You have been trapped in a quagmire and locked in your place with nowhere to go.”
